Principal Sally Mapstone addressed the University of St Andrews in a student-and-staff email this morning to confirm the death of Felicia Llena, a student at the University of St Andrews.
The 18-year-old was in her first year studying biology and hailed from Sussex.
Principal Mapstone said in the email:
“Felicia was a promising scholar whose academic interests were broadening to include Psychology, reasoning, and what the fields of science and religion can teach us about the mind.
“Her friends describe her as quiet, a good listener, and as having a genuine interest in the wellbeing of others. I hope we can commemorate her spirit by supporting each other, and showing care for those most affected.
“I know our colleagues in Student Services are in touch with Felicia’s family, and available to help anyone struggling with this news.”
Details of arrangements for Felicia’s funeral will be available from the Chaplaincy as soon as they are available.
