Introducing: St Andrews Against Slavery

In this issue, our photographers were joined by St Andrews Against Slavery, a society with a strong message: slavery is closer than you think. The following photos invoke scenes of human trafficking and exploitation common in the modern age. They explore the themes of plantation workers in the coffee trade, and prostitution, inspired by Amsterdam's Red Light District, highlighting just two of the many ways that we may come into contact with modern-day slavery , either as a consumer, or a tourist. For more information please visit St Andrews Against Slavery's Facebook page. Photos: Alyssa Chafee, Raphael Benros, Sian Venables, and Yelim Lee

Featuring: St Andrews African Caribbean Society's One Mic Stand, St Andrews Against Slavery's Journey of a Sex Slave, St Andrews South Asian Society's BINDI, Carnegie Club's IDEAS Conference, and, Curiosity's mission of exploration at Gale Crater, Mars with Prof. John Grotzinger.
