A 22-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted in the early hours of Thursday morning in St Andrews. The assault is said to have taken place on Doubledykes Road at 1.15am.
An area around Kinburn playpark, next to the St Andrews museum, had been cordoned off Thursday while police investigated.
The area was open again for access by 3pm, with no sign of any incident.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said, “Police in Fife are investigating following a report of an assault on a 22-year-old-woman in St Andrews.
The incident happened around 1.15 am in the Doubledykes Road area of the town on Thursday, November 8. “Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.”
