This Saturday the 24th On The Rocks will be hosting On The Pebbles, a one-day teaser of next semester’s festival compiling 10 major events in various locations and venues. Publicity Manager Holly Scrivener revealed the broadened scope of the weekend’s shows that the On The Rocks committee encourages audiences to keep an eye out for, including pop-up events from dance society FOUND and a cappella group Bells.
On The Pebbles comes as an effort to establish an awareness of the festival throughout the year, assure a more collaborative process for artists and provide a platform for people and groups who would not normally work together to meet each other and think of something unusual and innovative. One of the prime examples include “Historytelling”, which brings together the Art History Society and Blind Mirth to host unconventional, comedic and informative tours in the Preservation Trust Museum.
The initiative also introduced an innovative ticketing method: tickets are designed as a map in St Andrews, and can be picked up from the box offices at any of the ticketed events around town. By buying one you gain entry into all events, where you can collect stamps as a form of encouragement to attend as many of them as possible.
You can find the timetable according to the press release at the time of publication below. On The Rocks reminds all visitors that the timings and venues of events are subject to change, and encourage everyone to check for updates on their Facebook page, their email (firstname.lastname@example.org), and welcome any last-minute questions at the box offices on Saturday.
