So you waited until the last minute to get a costume…
We’ve all been there. The fact that Halloween always falls the week after Independent Learning Week means that you either have to find a costume a few weeks before, or in most cases, a few days before. This brings you to the realm of last minute costume ideas! Now you can choose between three different paths of finding a costume.
The first path: Asking all of your friends if they happen to have a spare costume lying around. Now this path could be seen as being the easiest of the three, as technically it requires the least amount of effort, but your options tend to be quite limited.
The second path: Shopping your closet. The majority of halloween costumes are made up of regular clothing items, so the chances that you have the elements for a costume at your own home are quite high.
The third path: Amazon Prime… enough said. The glories of next day delivery are never truly appreciated until it is Tuesday afternoon and you realize you have less than hour to find something so that it will arrive at your door before night falls on All Hallows Eve.
Now that you have your three paths to choose from, here are some quick and easy costume ideas that can be found on any path.
Kuzco from The Emperor’s New Groove: All you need is your red St Andrews robe, a white belt, a yellow shirt, some form of golden crown, and sandals (or trainers due to the climate).
A schoolgirl/Britney Spears from “Hit Me Baby One More Time”: The classic costume that only requires a white button up, a short flared skirt, knee socks, and braids. These items tend to be floating around most girls closets, so take a look and see if you will be embracing your inner Britney.
Dora the Explorer: Harkening back to one’s childhood, all you need is a black wig, a pink shirt, orange shorts, a backpack, and a magical talking map. Easy right. If you’re without a talking map, any regular map will do, as long as you have a sense of adventure.
Grapes: One of the easiest per se. All you need is a green or purple shirt, jeans, and a large amount of green or purple balloons to attach all over your body!
Lilo and Stitch: An easy couples costume, especially if one of you has a Stitch onesie. For Lilo all you need is a red shirt, a green skirt, and a flower in your hair. And for Stitch, if the onesie isn’t an option, you can get Stitch ears off of Amazon and wear all blue!
Angel and Devil: The classic duo. One of you wears white (a daunting task in this town) and one wears red. Throw in a halo, a set of wings, devil horns, and a pitchfork and this duo is good to go!
Rick and Morty: For Morty you just need jeans, a yellow shirt, and a slight stutter. While for Rick, all you need is to borrow a science student’s lab coat, blue hair, and a flask. Just get ready for any inter-dimensional adventures.
Sims Characters: Perhaps the easiest of all the costumes. All you’ll need is a headband and green constitution paper to fashion into a jewel to attach to the headband. Just remember, you can’t speak English!
