A service of thanksgiving is to be held in honour of Duncan Sim, a first year chemistry undergraduate student at the University, who passed away earlier this year.
The service will be held in St Andrews at St Salvator’s Chapel on Saturday 29 September at 2:30pm. There will also be a reception in Lower College Hall following the Service.
Mr Sim went missing on 14 March 2018 following a night out with friends last semester, which led to a major search in St Andrews. After being missing for almost three months, his remains were discovered in June at West Sands.
Over 100 volunteers from St Andrews and Duncan’s hometown of Duns supported police in the search.
Although his funeral took place near Duns on 5 July, this service will give the St Andrews community an opportunity to gather together to remember and give thanks to Mr Sim.
More details for the service are available from the Chaplaincy email at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone number (01334 46)2866.
