BREAKING: Four pedestrians injured after car mounts kerb in St Andrews

The incident took place on the corner of Church Street and Market Street outside Bonkers just before noon today.

Four pedestrians were injured after a car mounted a kerb in front of Bonkers Original Gifts.

The incident took place at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, 12 January, on the corner of Church Street and Market Street.

The four men were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with leg, neck, and back injuries, those none of the injuries are currently life-threatening.

Bonkers released a statement on their Facebook page of the incident, saying, “An awful thing happened in St Andrews today. We are so sorry for the pedestrians that were injured and our thoughts are with them.”

The man, who was driving a Volkswagen Golf car, will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal, or the Scottish public prosecution.

Three ambulances and a paramedic response unit arrived on the scene, and at least 15 police officers were present. Fife police do not believe this should be viewed as a suspicious incident and there is no suggestion it was intentional.
