A controlled explosion of a World War Two-era bomb has taken place in St Andrews.
In a statement on a Police Scotland Facebook page, a spokesperson also said “We’re working with bomb disposal experts so chances are when they carry out a controlled explosion, you might hear a loud bang.
“The activity is set to take place between 11.15am – 11.30am today.
“So in the words of Dad’s Army – don’t panic!”
The police would not disclose the exact location of the bomb but said that it was “discovered in a remote field in the St Andrews area.”
