Nominations for student elections open

Nominations for all elected Students Association and School President positions have officially opened.

Nominations opened yesterday (29 February) at 9 AM and will close this Friday (4 March) at 4 PM.

All elected positions are open to nominations, including the five sabbatical positions of Association President, Director of Representation, Director of Development and Activities, Director of Events and Services and Athletic Union President.

The University of St Andrews Students’ Association is the only UK students’ union to have exceeded over 50% turnout in student elections and currently holds the title of highest turnout in student elections for four years running (2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015).

Students just need a statement (350 words for sabbatical officers, 250 for non-sabbatical officers) a photo, and a proposer and seconder to be considered.

Students can also opt to “nudge” a friend to run for a position they feel they might be suited for, this “nudge” can be anonymous.
