Six men have been detained in a high-profile operation in Wardlaw Gardens in connection with an alleged conspiracy to rob.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We can confirm six males have been detained as part of an ongoing operation.
“They were detained in St Andrews at 16.30 hours at Wardlaw Gardens and Kennedy Gardens.
“We can confirm that armed officers were involved in the operation.”
Despite reports that drugs and cash were recovered during the armed operation, a spokesperson told The Saint that police had not seized drugs.
A police helicopter had been deployed and armed police were seen carrying out the search warrant at Wardlaw Gardens.
The police say that the householders will be reported.
