The opening of a holiday home in St Andrews for seriously ill children and their families has moved a step closer, after Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia (TCCL) confirmed that it has received the keys for the property, christened ‘TCCL Lodge’.
The home, which according to TCCL’s website is located “in a quiet residential area of St Andrews, a short walking distance from the Botanic Gardens,” needs renovation before it can open its doors, with an extra £130,000 being sought to pay for the refurbishment and running costs for the first three years of operation.
Fundraising events, including an upcoming ‘Monster March’ creative day in schools across north east Fife, are continuing. When the £130,000 target is met, TCCL will have raised £500,000 towards the project. Donations can be made at www.tccl-lodge.org.uk
