  1. It empowers women. This show was years ahead of its time with its feminist message. A moment that illustrates this is when someone doubts the petite girl’s strength and Giles assures them that Buffy is “quite capable.”
  2. It’s perfect escapism: after a boring day at the library, watching Buffy and the Scooby Gang battle evil demons is as far away from St Andrews life as you can get.
  3. Anthony Head as Giles, is the librarian and father figure we all wished we’d had.
  4. Its on Netflix, making it dangerously easy to binge watch.
  5. If you grew up watching Buffy as a kid there would have been plenty of jokes you did not understand that you can catch up on now.
  6. The story lines never fail to surprise, with everything from voice stealing demons to those who make you sing.
  7. Joss Whedon, who directed The Avengers, made this series, and the man is a genius.
