Last week, the Music Society welcomed a lively crowd to Younger Hall for their Winter Concert. Conducted by Christopher Swaffer, the St Andrews Symphony Orchestra chose pieces by Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninov. With the addition of guest soloist Tamas Fejes, assistant leader of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the night was an overwhelming success!

Next up on the Music Society’s calendar is Swinging at the Movies! The University of St Andrews Concert Wind Band and the Big Band of the University of St Andrews, more commonly known as ‘Big BUSTA’, are offering a selection of film and jazz classics this Monday 26 November. The concert will take place at 19:00 in Younger Hall. Tickets are £3 (£2 for students, £1 for MusSoc members).

If you just can’t wait until Monday, then get your fill of show tunes today with the St Andrews Bassoon Quartet’s lunchtime recital. Tea and biscuits will be provided in Younger Hall, and the concert starts at 13:15, so head on over for classics from the Wizard of Oz and Wicked, as well as a few Matilda and Andrew Lloyd Webber songs!

Keep calm and bubble on! Xxx
